VB Distribution has appointed Langdon Customs & Excise Solutions Ltd as its duty transition partner as it builds end-to-end capability ahead of the UK’s Vaping Products Duty (VPD) and the Vaping Duty Stamps (VDS) scheme, effective 1 October 2026.

VB Distribution, which supplies vaping products to retail and wholesale customers nationwide, is implementing the operating model required to manage duty at scale, covering duty classification and reporting controls, compliant traceability, and audit-ready warehouse and distribution workflows.

The programme includes bonded-warehouse preparations, with duty-suspension and stamp-ready processes being put in place as part of VB Distribution’s bonded-warehouse application.

The company said it is implementing these systems and internal processes in the UK to protect supply continuity as requirements change. This approach builds on VB Distribution’s experience operating in excise- and duty-controlled EU markets, including Germany.

“Vaping duty is an operational change. We’re building the controls, workflows and systems now so we can operate at scale from day one and protect supply continuity,” a spokesperson for VB Distribution said.

Langdon said its duty management system will provide VB Distribution “the structured controls, automated workflows and compliant reporting framework” needed to manage VPD and VDS requirements at scale.

“VB Distribution is moving early and decisively. We’ll support the programme to ensure duty management, traceability and reporting processes are implemented efficiently and at pace ahead of October 2026,” the company said.

Earlier this year, HMRC has selected Spectra Systems Corporation to produce and supply duty stamps for the Vaping Duty Stamps scheme.
