The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Responsible Vaping has launched an inquiry into the role of vaping in the UK.

The inquiry will cover a range of specific topics, that includes the public health, environmental and economic impact, along with proposed government legislative measures including flavours, packaging, display, excise and a ban on certain vaping products.

This inquiry will bring together evidence and experience from experts in wide range of fields, with the report expected to include a thematic analysis of the topics discussed, as well as practical and legislative suggestions for the role of vaping.

Those wishing to submit evidence to the inquiry should use the form here. If you have any problems accessing the form please contact info@responsiblevapingappg.org and a copy can be sent directly for completion.

“We welcome submissions from experts in the fields of respiratory health, epidemiology, and tobacco dependence. We would also like to hear from smoking cessation stakeholders, particularly those with first-hand experience of using vapes within quit smoking services,” the APPG said in a statement.

Submissions should be sent by email to info@responsiblevapingappg.org by 31 October 2024. Responses to individual questions should be kept to a maximum of 500 words. Supporting information and evidence will also be accepted.

Meanwhile, the APPG for Responsible Vaping, which was formed in March, has elected new office-bearers following the general election.

Mary Glindon, Labour MP for Newcastle upon Tyne East and Wallsend, replaces Gareth Johnson, who lost his seat in the election, as the new chair.

Falkirk MP Euan Stainbank and Conservative peers Lord Naseby and Lord Brady of Altrincham will serve as officers.
