If you’re not an expert in vaping then how do you answer those tough questions you customers might ask? In our new regular feature, Vape Business comes to the rescue.
Is vaping safe? Yes, it’s 95% less harmful than smoking and the UK is one of the most highly-regulated markets in the world. The scientific evidence of the benefits on switching to e-cigarettes from traditional cigarettes is mounting and Cancer Research UK, Public Health England, Action on Smoking and Health and the Royal College of Physicians all back e-cigarettes as an effective way to quit smoking.
Isn’t vaping killing people in the USA? Not vaping as we know it. There have been deaths and injuries in the US – mostly users of black-market products and almost entirely due to the use of THC (or cannabis) vapes. These have been shown to contain Vitamin E Acetate which is now thought to be responsible for causing lung injuries via a disease dubbed EVALI. There have been no similar cases in the UK and the few international cases can be traced back to these illegal US-bought products.
How do I know your products are okay? All UK vaping products must be registered with the UK government (Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority). Mandatory restrictions include a limit to the levels of nicotine allowed in e-liquids and child safety locks on products – some of the strictest safety regulations in the world. Meanwhile major brands have millions (and in some cases, billions) of pounds of research behind them.
